by Albino Palamara

Acrylic on paper.

The artwork belongs to Medusa's series. Medusa is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic figures of Greek mythology. Together with Steno and Euriale, it is one of the three Gorgons, daughters of the sea gods Forco and Ceto. According to the myth the Gorgons had the power to petrify anyone who crossed their gaze and, of the three, Medusa was the only one not to be immortal. This series is a tribute to her, to her being invincible and vulnerable at the same time.

Ships from Italy.

Albino Palamara

Albino Palamara is a contemporary artist and interior designer based in Rome, Italy. His artistic production, ranging from painting to mosaic to interior decorations, born to the artist's need to investigate every day life, people and relationships from his personal point of view. Palamara's works are assemblages of ideally distant materials. Wood, stone, ceramics and clay are contaminated by cement, waste materials, cigarette butts. It culminates in the subjects, faces and figures of the aesthetic canons of ancient civilizations, revisited and updated in the experimentation and representation of the modern individual.
