by Corné Akkers
Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Strathmore Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format) Artist: Corné Akkers
This drawing concentrates on triangular structures the female body often can show when posing in a slanted position. I liked the contast between the straight edgy contours and the curvy swings, enforced by a great diagonal rhythym of light and dark planes that almost show the pattern of sound waves, resonating body structures. I kept the woman’s head rather abstract and thus the focus is on the mid section.

1969, born in Nijmegen. My work can be seen in many countries all over the world. Corné employs a variety of styles that all have one thing in common: the ever search for the light on phenomena and all the shadows and light planes they block in. His favorites in doing so are oil paint, dry pastel and graphite pencil.
