Blue Agapanthus “Lily of the Nile”

Blue Agapanthus, commonly known as “lily of the Nile”, are not lilies at all but, yes they are native to Africa. Agapanthus is an easy-going, drought and heat-hardy summer flower. They are cultivated throughout many warm areas of the world, and can be spotted all throughout Northern California, especially along the roadways and that is why I refer to them as “freeway flowers”.

Folklore says that a person’s wish is granted if a ladybug lands on them. Also, tradition says that if you capture a ladybug; make a wish, and then "blow it away" back home your wish will come true. Somewhere in all my flower paintings you will find your ladybug.

David Arrigoni

David Michael Arrigoni is a prolific painter whose work reflects the influence of a lifelong dedication to the study of art. He hails from a linage of talented artists who were known for their skill in the Italian painting style across Lucca Italy and near Florence early in the 20th century. David’s own talents were recognized at a young age. Early in life he began to learn the nuances of artistic expression from his father, Eduardo Angelo Arrigoni. As a boy David spent many hours fascinated by the works he discovered in the fine art museums near his home in San Francisco. His passion for knowledge of methods and materials have made him a coveted artist. Many admirers of his work find great joy in visiting his studio, Arrigoni Art Studio, located at 1102 E. Champlain Drive Ste 101 in Fresno. Here you can find him continually creating fine art original paintings as well as limited editions and large canvas artwork in traditional, abstract, and contemporary styles
