How did you get interested in art?

I’ve been painting all my life, as long as I can remember. I was always that girl who was into visual arts exhibitions and who would draw during class. But I really got serious about art when I came home from a trip to Africa. I experienced a cultural shock when I realized that the world wasn’t the way I had imagined. It was hard, but also very good for me, and that’s where my own little mission began.

What makes you most proud in your life?

This might sound weird, but it’s dropping out of high school. I did so in order to do something 100% and really fight for it – Instead of sitting there waiting for it to maybe happen in a few years, and that I might run out of steam altogether.

What are your sources of inspiration?

I analyze everything from society and music to friends, family, and myself.

What are the best advice given to you as an artist?

Don’t give up, even on hard days when no one believes in you. It’s part of life, but it also makes you feel alive.

What are your favourite materials to work with?

Acrylic paint, Posca Paint Pens, and spray cans.

Did you attend art school or are you autodidact?

Right now, I’m attending a preparatory talent academy for young artists. It’s a prep school for the renowned art academy. But just as with any other “education”, it is 100% up to you, how much you want to learn and get out of it.

Who are your favourite contemporary artist?

There are many I think are good, but I do have some favourites. Even though these are big names, they really do inspire me. They are Banksy, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Nas, Hopsin, and Tupac, who all have great messages for the people and fight for something greater than themselves.

If you could not be an artist, what would you do?

I don’t know why I wouldn’t be able to be an artist – haha. But I guess it would have to be something to do with society. I remember when I was younger, and I wanted to be the leader of the UN and save the whole world. But definitely something to do with helping and fighting for something greater than myself.

What do you do besides being an artist?

I am a friend, I am a daughter, and I am a girlfriend. I am really into being social and filling my daily life with people I love. If it had to be something practical, I am also in the process of creating my own brand and art team, and I might try to get into an entrepreneurial education pretty soon.

Describe your perfect day…

I try to make every day the best and do the things I would like to achieve. But for a dream scenario, I would wake up next to my boyfriend and drink a cup of coffee, after which I would travel into the wide world to paint in a warm place.

What are your ends goals as an artist?

I hope one day to be a recognized artist. The kind people listen to and receive messages from. I also hope to be good enough to travel around the world with a team and do street art or something like that.

Projects

I have a deep passion for art and I have been collecting art for some years now - to be honest, it's a bit addictive :)
I have done all kinds of artistic creations myself, not all succeeded actyaly most didn't. Lately, I have been experienting with a style I call Photo DJ'ing. I mix different photo's to create the expression I'm looking for.

Besides that, I'm a part of the Artboost team - which is my dream job!
