Valcon got their wall outfitted with a mural by the talented artist Mormor. Mormor created the cityscape mural in his characteristic cartoony style during a reception where the participants could contribute with their ideas of locations to include in the mural.

Happiness is business
Valcon is a Scandinavian consulting company helping other companies connect strategic goals with operational processes. Valcon strives to be the happiest company in the world, which starts with the motivation of its employees. They are not just doing it for the heck of it. No! This is business. One of the important parts of their efforts is their interior design, which is where we met them.
Detail from the final mural by Mormor
Valcon wanted to have a mural created in their office space, showing the cityscape of Copenhagen, and furthermore to have the mural created as part of an event. The idea was intriguing, and we knew we had to find the right artist for the task, and so we teamed up with the talented Danish artist Mormor.
Reception attendees helped form the mural
After some initial planning and ideation, Mormor was ready to draw the cityscape, but some details were deliberately left out. Since the mural was to be created during a reception, Valcon wanted their attendees to interact with Mormor and help shape the final pieces. This resulted in Mormor including several design elements as suggested by the guests. One detail that was added was a small fish on one of the buildings, symbolizing Folkekirkens Nødhjælp (DanChurchAid), a humanitarian NGO aimed at supporting the world’s poorest.

Bespoke art as a conversation starter
Mormor’s trademark whimsical style gave the mural a very playful and human touch, while still including well-known landmarks of Copenhagen. The mural now serves as a great conversation starter for visitors at Valcon’s office as well as a shared visual experience for the employees that they helped create.
That could be you!
