La Laguna Encantada
Is an illustration that captures the magic and the mystery of the stories I used to listen when I was a child.
My mother always told me about our families anecdotes, where there was always an enchanted lagoon (Laguna encantada) which gave benefits to those who threw tobacco in it and great disgrace to those who threw stones.
When I created this piece I imagined myself in front of the misterious Mucubají Lagoon in Mérida, Venezuela; and I imagined the seductive figure of a woman coming out of the water, inviting me to be a part of her. I decidedly to refuse her request, not until I portrayed her.
