Yoshimitsu Umekawa
Tokyo, Japan

Yoshimitsu Umekawa is a Japanese photographer born in Tokyo. He has exhibited as a freelance photographer and mainly worked within the commercial art field making culture- and music magazines, CD covers, fashion, and ads. His famous pictures of “clouds” erupting from the surface which he calls ‘Incarnations’ looks like pictures of a pop-colored apocalypse. The forms appear vibrant and swirling at first but then evoke an underlying darkness.
